Steven and Amanda were traveling to Las Vegas for a concert at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, so we met them early for some great desert hiking.  The weather was fantastic though a bit warm at around 70 degrees (Feb 27-Mar 1).

The first hiking day was at the Valley of Fire State Park northeast of Las Vegas.  Stunning colors, stripes and formations!  Really an out-of-this-world place!  Lots of people trying to get to the outdoors before the heat of the summer.  Saw Desert Bighorn Sheep three times!  It was great watching them effortlessly climb steep rocks and cliffs.
