My Astro Photographs for 2018. There will be more forthcoming of course, depending on weather, time to process, etc etc!
I use PixInsight exclusively to stack and post-process all my images.
IC 405 "Flaming Star Nebula" is the curved cloud. IC 410 is the circular cloud, with open star cluster NGC 1893 imbedded . These nebulae are in the constellation Auriga. There are a lot of stars in this image since the Winter Milky Way passes through Auriga.
Acquisition Details: iOptron SkyGuider Pro EQ mount, Canon t5i dslr (modified), Canon 200mm lens @ f/4.0, ISO 1600, 75 second exposures. 96 light frames, of which 78 passed the quality tests, leaving 1.5+ hours of total integration. 24 dark frames, no flats.
Imaged at The Albuquerque Astronomical Society observatory dark sky site, Thursday February 8, 2018.
This image is of the belt area in the constellation Orion. B33 "Horsehead Nebula" is the dark cloud in front of the bright emission nebula IC 434. The "Flame Nebula" is the orangish/peach colored cloud, a very unique color for a nebula. The brightest star is Alnitak, the leftmost star of Orion's Belt.
Acquisition details: iOptron SkyGuider Pro EQ mount, Canon t5i dslr (modified), Canon 200mm lens @f/4.0, ISO 1600, 60 second exposures. 210 light frames, of which 166 made the grade, for a total integration of 2.75 hours. 30 darks, no flats.

M45 The Pleiades. I was really happy with the amount of nebulosity and surrounding dust clouds I was able to pick up on this wider angle image of the star cluster.
Acquisition Details: iOptron SkyGuider Pro EQ mount, Canon t5i dslr (modified), Canon 200mm lens @ f/4.0, ISO 1600, 60 second exposures. 225 light frames, of which 150 passed my quality tests, leaving 2.5 hours of total integration. 32 dark frames, no flats, previously built superbias frame.
