Stef and I explored this area in the Rio Puerco Basin about a year ago and found enough features to justify bringing the Mountain Club out here. 10 total hikers on this outing. Much more colorful than the white and gray clay badlands. Lots of hoodoos and formations but scattered sporadically instead of in big bunches. Up and down a couple of mesas, all off-trail except for a small section on the CDT (Continental Divide Trail). Another gorgeous day in the desert with a high around 60 degrees and beautiful high clouds. Wildlife? We did see two bunnies!
